Rice and Rocks
We don’t know about you, but we miss traveling, and what better way to travel than through food! This unit dives into the history and diversity associated with rice and beans. These foods are favored by many cultures throughout the world, and with these lessons, we get to go on a ride and see all of the different and equally beautiful types of rice and beans there are. There are endless opportunities to engage all of our senses, as well as discuss the many similarities and differences between cultures and their style of rice and beans. This unit is a gentle way to begin conversations about diversity and to encourage multiculturalism in the classroom or home.
